Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer. and today we're taking a look and installing the Demco Air Force One braking system for towed vehicles on a 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500. There's five required components when flat towing any vehicle. And on our Chevy 1500 today, we'll start by taking a look at the base plate. And the base plate is gonna mount to where the factory tow hooks were or structurally to the frame of the vehicle, creating a mounting point for the rest of your components and also your tow bar. Tow bar is your second component and that is connecting point between the base plate and the hitch on the RV. more

Today on our 2017 Chevy Silverado 1500, we're gonna be showing you how to install the Demco Air Force One Supplemental Braking System for those of you that have the Spartan K2 400 series motorhomes. But before we do that, let's take a minute, check it out and make sure it's going to be what you need. Before we jump right in, I wanna address one of the big questions that a lot of people wonder when it comes to flat towing of vehicle down the road. And that is what parts am I gonna need So there's gonna be a total of five main components. Hi, John with etrailer. Look, you deserve a great flat towing experience, and today we have the components here that are gonna do that for you. We have a 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500 Z71, so that's gonna be the 4x4 package. So we have a motor coach here that has air brakes on it, and we're gonna take a look, quick overview, of some of the components that's required to get it, this Chevy, to flat tow behind the coach. First things first, we're gonna look at the physical connection here. This is gonna be our tow bar, and this links up the Chevy with the motor coach here. more

SMI Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System Installation - 2023 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hello neighbors, it's Brad here at etrailer and today we're taking a look at installing the Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System for towed vehicles on a 2023 Chevy Silverado 1500. There's five main components when flat towing a vehicle that are gonna be required on your Silverado to get it down the road. And the first one is gonna be your base plate that's gonna attach to the frame of the vehicle creating a mounting point not only for some of your other components, but your tow bar. And your tow bar is the connection point between that base plate and the hitch on the RV. Now going along with that, we have our safety chains and these are going to make sure in case of a less than likely but potential of a disconnect, these are gonna keep everything still attached. And you also have a breakaway switch, which is part of your braking system, which is also a component which brings the vehicle to slow and stop when you apply the brakes on the RV and the breakaway switch as if this was to pull, in case of a catastrophic disconnect, it's going to apply the brakes on the vehicle, bringing it to a slow and stop. more

Demco Stay-IN-Play DUO Braking System Installation - 2020 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Hey guys, how's it going Conner here today at etrailer.com. We're going to be taking a look at the Demco Stay-IN-Play supplemental braking system here for our 2020 Chevy Silverado 1500.Our supplemental braking system here is going to be one of the other mini components we need to complete our flat tow setup. The list of other components are going to include a base plate kit, which is going to serve as a connection point for our next component we need, which is a tow bar, which is going to be the physical link between the motorhome and the towed vehicle. Now in addition to this, we're going to need some safety cables, which may or may not come with your tow bar as well as a lighting solution to provide signals from the motorhome to the towed vehicle. So the supplemental braking system is actually going to be required in most States in order to tow legally.Now what does essentially does is, while we're driving down the road in our motorhome, we have our towed vehicle behind us when we're coming to a stop, or we're going up and down hills, our vehicle behind us is going to be pushing the motorhome. And what this is going to cause is it's going to cause extended stress on our motorhome. more

SMI Air Force One Braking System Installation - 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Speaker 1: Today on our 2017 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, which we will be connecting to the 2004 Alpha on the Freightliner XC chassis, we're going to be showing you how to install the SMI Air Force One. Part number is SM 99243. One of the great things about the Air Force One system is once you've got your tow bar and stuff hooked up, you only have two connections that you need to make for your system to work. One will be our airline, just going to be a quick plug-in on each side, and the other is our breakaway switch in case we have an accidental disconnection. The rest of the system's going to stay in place so there's no adjustments. There's no putting things in or out or anything like that necessary.Now we'll have somebody in the coach. more

SMI Delta Force Portable Braking System Installation - 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500- Video
Today on our 2015 Chevrolet Silverado 1500, we're going to take a look at and also show you how to install the SMI Delta Force. This is a proportional portable supplemental braking system. It's part number is SM99242. The Delta Force from SMI is a braking system that's designed for use in practically any Coach, including vacuum, hydroboost, or hybrid braking system. It's a dual signal proportional system, and it uses a pneumatic piston to apply the brakes. It offers an industry leading 5-year warranty. The proportional system, instead of using just a signal from your RV to turn the braking on or turn the braking off, it uses an accelerometer inside of the control unit to sense how the brakes are being applied into the Coach and then directing those into the towed vehicle. more
